Amazon has announced Game Connect, a service which enables developers to sell in-game items through Amazon.com.
Players that link their game accounts to their Amazon accounts can now use Amazon.com to shop for virtual goods and subscriptions, which are sent directly into the relevant game.
To coincide with Game Connect's launch Amazon.com has added a number of free-to-play titles and MMOGs to its catalogue of downloadable and browser-based games.
Extra reach
"Customers can now discover a new category of free-to-play games and can experience the convenience of having virtual items purchased with their Amazon account delivered directly to their game accounts," explained Frazzini, director, Amazon Games.
"Game Connect helps game developers reach more customers, move more quickly and grow their business by simplifying the purchase process for customers. This is an exciting next step for the Digital Games Store and we have even more to come," he concluded.
Those interested can find out more about the service on Amazon's Game Connect page for developers.
