Chinese/US developer Cmune has closed a new funding round - albeit of uncertain value - to build its business and bring its popular social shooter UberStrike to Android.
The Facebook game has over 10 million registered players and 1.2 million Facebook fans, while the investment comes from early stage VC firm DCM via its Android-centric A-fund.
Semi-automatic
Also released as a free-to-play game for Mac in December 2012 (gaining 1 million downloads), UberStrike has been less successfully priced at $4.99 for iPad - although as often the way, there have been weeks of free promotion too.
The investment should see the company focus on a more coherent business model as it looks to harness the fast-growing Android market in North America, Europe, Korea and China.
"Following UberStrike's massive success on Facebook and the Mac App Store, we look forward to helping them expand to new platforms and geographies to build the next billion dollar gaming brand for action games," said Pete Moran, a general partner at DCM.
