Canada outlaws mobile gaming

New law states the obvious

Canada outlaws mobile gaming

Before you phone the embassy, we don't mean 'gaming on mobile phones' – we mean 'gaming while mobile'.

The story here is that Ontario transport minister Jim Bradley has put forward a proposal to ban the use of handheld and electronic devices while driving – a bill which makes special mention of DVD players, mobile phones and gaming systems.

The law would levy a $500 fine against anyone caught using such devices (does Travel Scrabble count?), though passengers, the police and emergency services would be exempt.

So if you want to play Tetris on your DS while driving in Canada's Ontario province, make sure you're a copper.

Yes. Spanner's his real name. And, yes, he's heard that joke before.
