Quality index's top-reviewed iPhone games of the week
Welcome to the weekly iPhone Quality index (Qi) games round-up, giving you the LOWdown on the HIGH scorers every Friday on these hallowed pages.

Launched in beta by Steel Media, publisher of PocketGamer.biz, Qi trawls the web for iPhone game and app reviews from the world’s most respected online and print sources.
Qi then applies its own magic formula to each site (such as 148Apps, Macworld, IGN, and Gamezebo) to establish a single definitive Qi score for each iPhone app and game.

Quest for glory

Casting a supernatural spell over the #1 rank on the Qi charts this week is another iPhone match-three sizzler Puzzle Quest 2, gaining two valuable reviews for a top notch 9.4 Qi score.

Namco’s blend of puzzling magic and role-playing adventure produces a seamless experience in a fantasy world rich in weaponry, armoury, and - most importantly - gems.

To defeat the evil presence Gorgon and reclaim the village Verloren, you will have to complete a series of challenging mini-games in a title Slide to Play describes as “the best Match-3 game on the platform, bar none. It's a full console game with graphics, sound design, and deep gameplay to match.”

To Infinity and beyond

There’s no doubt whatsoever that Infinity Blade was the most eagerly anticipated iPhone game of 2010, and judging by the early critical assessments on Qi, ChAIR’s epic slasher has definitely lived up to the incredible hype.

Nine quickfire reviews, including four perfect 10s, from across the iOS universe have generated a phenomenal 9.3 Qi average for the sword-wielding, treasure-hunting, vengeance-seeking lone knight.
Infinity Blade’s beauty must be beheld to be believed, a point picked up on by TouchGen: “The quality of graphics, sound, art, and combat is easily the finest on the iOS platform so far. It’s not better by a little bit, it’s better by a lot.”

Hack ‘n’ slash heroics

And completing a holy trinity of RPG titles levelling up onto the Qi rundown over these past seven days comes Gameloft’s sequel to the highly Qi rated atmospheric action hit Dungeon Hunter.

Tougher enemies, harder quests, and more gargantuan realms in Dungeon Hunter 2 stand in the way of your immortal hero fulfilling his destiny and defending the wartorn Gothicus.
AppSpy’s reviewer elected to highlight this open world extravaganza’s positives in byte sized snippets, ranging from “deep action-RPG gameplay” to “multiple specializations” and a “lengthy campaign; shareable via local and online co-op.”

You can get the up-to-date information about which games are reviewing best over at the Quality index.
