Smartphone applcations store Handango will have a new CEO from next month, following previous boss Bill Stone's departure for a new role at Qualcomm.
He'll now be in charge of that company's MediaFLO mobile TV business. In his place, Handango has promoted VP of content and international Alex Bloom to be the new CEO and president.
It seems amicable though: Stone is remaining on Handango's board of directors.
The company faces an interesting year. The buzz around smartphones - and apps in general - should be good news, given its long history in the space.
However, it will also face competition from the manufacturers of these smartphones, who are all intent on launching their own app stores.
