The man who put the ‘app’ in Apple

RIM hires key iPhone designer
We heard only yesterday that BlackBerry is aiming to correct the mistakes made with its potential iPhone killer, the Storm, with a follow-up device due out at the end of the year.

Now we hear it’s poached one of the iPhone’s key designers, Don Lindsay, who apparently played a significant role in putting together the iPhone’s user interface – one of the particular areas the otherwise popular BlackBerry Storm was criticised for.

His LinkedIn profile now pegs him as "Currently creating the VP of UX (user experience) role at RIM", so it sounds as though he’ll be adopting a very similar role on the BlackBerry devices as he did over at Apple.

Yes. Spanner's his real name. And, yes, he's heard that joke before.
