iPhone game FriendFreak is one of the first 25 finalists announced in this year's fbFund contest, run by Facebook.
The initiative aims to spotlight applications making innovative use of Facebook's app platform - or other sites and iPhone apps using the Facebook Connect technology.
50 finalists will be chosen in total, but so far only half of them have been announced by Facebook.
FriendFreak is interesting: it's described as "an interactive social quiz game that challenges and improves your knowledge of your friends".
Players log in using their Facebook ID, and then answer questions about their friends based on the information in their profiles.
The winners of the contest will take part in Facebook's summer Incubator programme, and could receive seed investments of up to $100,000.
