With Android's share of the fast growing Chinese smartphone market thought to be around 50 percent, it's a great time for Android social gaming outfit PapayaMobile to launch a Chinese localised version of its platform.
The US/Chinese company recently notched up eight million registered users, and expects the launch of the Chinese version of its SDKs and game engine to further boost activity.
In it, to win it
To further encourage this, it's also kicked off a developers competition.
Limited to teams consisting of three members or less, its global Game Developer Contest is now open for submissions, with a closing date of February 16. The top 10 winners will be announced on February 22, with the top three announced at GDC on February 28.
The #1 winner will get $10,000, a flight to GDC, an internship in Beijing for six months, and one week's free promotion for their game on the Papaya app homepage and Android App of the Day website.
