Having set out to specialise in the monetisation business, Canadian-cum-Indonesian outfit Bizmey has announced an intention to move solely into app distribution.
The firm claims it's spent the last few months working on its existing network, shifting its focus to distributing apps primarily through social games.
It's a transition Bizmey is still in the midst of initiating, but the company is currently on the look out for advertisers and developers to run the platform.
Social shift
"The new strategic business direction is anchored on Bizmey's core focus of developing a large database of mobile applications for distribution, and leveraging its existing and new partnerships in the virtual currency space by providing an extensive user base to all its mobile advertisers," the company said in a statement on its website.
"Demands for more innovations and applications in the mobile market today continue to surge, along with the phenomenal rise of mobile platforms for business, communication, social networking as well as gaming and entertainment."
Bizmey, which claims to have "found a wonderful groove" with its change in approach, says it will continue to distribute apps across Android and iOS using both incentive and non-incentive based means.
Incentive for incentivisationSuch methods have recently come in for criticism from many parties following Apple's apparent ban on app incentivisation schemes in April.
The concern is that it artificially inflates the rankings of apps, giving a false impression as to their popularity.
However, speaking back in March, CEO Arfan Chaudhry said the simplicity of app incentivisation schemes will ensure they stay popular with the majority of developers.
"Of course, there is an issue with some users deleting the application right away, but there will be users who find interesting applications they've not heard about before through such installs," Chaudhry said.
Developers interested in taking part in the beta should visit Bizmey's website, with the firm offering $50 to studios interested in carrying the network.
