The second developer to utilise Tapjoy's $5 million development fund for Android in almost as many days, UK-based Mobile Pie is to bring free-to-play social location title My Star to Google's platform.
As a result of a partnership between the two firms, the development of the Android version of My Star which launched on iOS back in March will be funded by Tapjoy, with the monetisation outfit also providing marketing support.
Pushing the Pie
"Android owners need My Star in their life and we're delighted that Tapjoy is working with us to make that happen by backing and promoting it," said Mobile Pie's creative director Will Luton.
"These guys know their biz when it comes to mobile promotion and acquisition. They're the big dogs."
The game, which Mobile Pie claims uniquely enjoys a 62 percent to 38 percent split between female and male players, will employ Tapjoy's ad-funded payment option to allow players to earn the game's in-app currency - Star Cash and Coins - for free.
The firm will also distribute My Star through its network in a bid to aid the game's discovery.
"It's really exciting to be working with Mobile Pie," added Tapjoys European manager, Paul Bowen.
"They're young, sharp and very talented. I look forward to being a part of the success of My Star for Android and watching them shape the future of games."
The deal with Mobile Pie follows a similar agreement with PixoFactor to bring steampunk release Gaslight to Android.
