While Nokia's Windows Phone-based Lumia 800 is turning heads, it's the cheaper Lumia 710 that the company's looking to in terms of driving the massive volumes both it and OS backer Microsoft demand.
Priced around 270 - compared to the 800's 420 - the Lumia 710 is now shipping in Taiwan.
It will roll out in Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Russia during the next week, before going global.
For the masses
Nokia says it makes "the Nokia Lumia experience accessible to more people around the world," pointing out it has been "praised as the best Windows Phone experience at its price point".
Running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, the 710 harks back to Nokias of old, as it can be customised with white and black front finishes and five inter-changeable back covers.
