BuzzCity sees global ads up 139% to 126 billion ads in 2011

India leading the 10 countries in the 10+ billion club

BuzzCity sees global ads up 139% to 126 billion ads in 2011
It was clear from October's figures that ad platform BuzzCity was set for a strong 2011.

Full year results show the number of ads the firm served were up 139 percent year-on-year, it finishing 2011 with a total of 126 billion ads globally.

The firm's figures suggest such growth isn't limited to just one or two regions either.

BuzzCity claims this time last year, three countries – India, USA and Indonesia – were serving in excess of a billion ads a quarter.

Now that total has risen to 10, with UK, South Africa, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Canada and Thailand joining the party.

BlackBerry's British billions

"The mobile industry has not only grown but matured, we are pleased to see yet more countries joining the billion club across our network," said CEO Dr. KF Lai.

"With more consumers gaining trust in mobile and brands taking advantage of spending power maturity the entire mobile ecosystem will benefit in coming months, ultimately paving the way for further demand for mobile and lifestyle content as well as mobile commerce offerings."

The company reports the UK remains the leading European country based on ad impressions, followed by Turkey and France.

Breaking those figures down further, BuzzCity reports BlackBerry is its dominant platform in the UK, with 69 percent of impressions – though this is a lead that's declining and consumers show "growing interest in Apple devices".

India, held onto the global number one spot, serving over 32 billion ads in the course of the year.
