Having served most recently as EA's VP and general manager, cross-platform development framework Marmalade has appointed Harvey Elliot as its managing director and COO.
Elliot, who has nearly 20 years experience in the industry, assumes overall leadership of all teams across both Marmalade itself and Ideaworks 3D effective immediately.
Harvey and Harry
"I am delighted to join Marmalade at a pivotal moment for the app economy," said Elliott of his appointment.
"By embracing cross-platform development, Marmalade is democratising the innovation of app developers and unleashing creativity. Developers must be able to spread apps and games cross-platform without compromising performance."
Harvey's role at EA saw him lead the creation of more than 30 games in all, including titles within the Harry Potter franchise.
Going global
It's experience Marmalade CEO Niall Murphy claims will be key if the company is to extend its support across new platforms and into new territories.
"With the successful launch of Marmalade 6.0 SDK, and the extension of support to include HTML 5, we continue to affirm ourselves as the world leader in cross-platform technology," said Murphy.
"Harveys proven track record in developing and delivering complex products across multiple territories will be a great asset as he drives our next phase of growth: to expand the reach of Marmalade around the world."
