Actually, he pointed out this was '30 interesting apps' not top grossing or his favourites.

Party-play mode, four-player split screen on your TV via Airplay.
2. Score: Classic Goals (First Touch)
Console developers doing something different on mobile.
3. Kinectimals Microsoft
Console companion app
4. Hay Day Supercell
It feels like the first farming made for touchscreen.
5. Beat Sneak Bandit Simogo
Reinventing music games. Doing something different with the game soundtrack.
6. Wild Chords Ovelin
Guitar training game through the medium of collecting cute cartoon animals.
7. Frederic - Resurrection of Music Forever Entertainment
A game based on Chopin's music.
8. Daniel Johnston's Space Ducks (W+k)
Content from musician and artist combined into an interactive experience.
9. WWE Rumblers (Mattel)
Using physical toys within a game. Similar to Skylanders, but could be a gimmick.
10. Bunker Buster (Project Zebra)
Niche location-based gaming based on Foursquare data.
11. Life is Crime (Red Robot Labs)
Another real-world location-based game, although using location in a very male, killing manner.
12.Paper Baron (DefenceJobs)
Australian military-developed game. Location-based but asychronous gameplay.
13. mCoach Basketball (Adidas)
Tracking your real-world activity and puts it within the game by changing your avatar etc.
14. Zombies, Run! Six to Start
Audio-based game where you're running in the real world but you're saving the world from zombies.
15. Tate Britain Quiz Trail (The Connected Set)
Apps for Tate museum to drive engagement and you get a discount code at the shop if you complete the quiz.
16. Makego (Cowly Owl)
A 'car' app where you make a car around your iPhone.
17. Pitch Painter (Morton Subotnick)
Painting onto a sequencer.
18. Numberly (Moonboot Studios)
Education game for teaching kids the alphabet.
19. Toca Train (Toca Boca)
Children make up the narrative in this simple app where you stop and start a train and decide which characters get on and off.
20. Playful Minds: Maths (Gameloft)
Brain training service for children, which uses IAP.
21. Move the Turtle (Next is Great)
Teaching kids how to program.
22. Deadline Hollywood (Paramount Digital)
Mixing up content from websites into a movie making app.
23. Disney Film Pulse (Disney)
Only works in one cinema in LA, but you play against other members of the audience in a triva game.
24. Frankenstein (Profile Books)
Interactive version of the classic book
25. Walking Dead: Walkers Kill Count (Fox Interactive)
You have to guess how many zombies will die, which character will kill the most and with what weapon while watching the TV show.
26. Instamatch (Tiny Hearts Limited)
Matching puzzles using Instagram's API
27. Mimi Good and Bibi Bad (Oil Studios)
Rotate your screen to get a different perspective on the book.
28. Paper Racer (Black Coal Studio)
Draw a car, scan it into the game and play it.
29. Pip and Posey Fun and Games (Nosy Crow)
Camera-app for kids where you have to make certain face. Children are used to putting themselves in the app.

Simple game-making app with community
