Having spent several years campaigning for a tax break for the UK games industry, it's little wonder trade association TIGA is keen to illustrate the impact it will have when it comes into force.
Indeed, according to CEO Richard Wilson, the success Neon Play has amassed the 40 million downloads marker on iOS and Android just passed will soon be replicated across a number of other developers, largely in part to said tax relief.
What a relief
"It is hard for smaller independent studios to make their mark but the success of Neon Play shows that with quality games and a great approach to business, it is possible to achieve great things within the videogame industry," said Wilson in an emailed statement to PocketGamer.biz.
"It is why we fought so hard for games tax relief."
Back in March, PocketGamer.biz estimated that the tax relief could free up around £50 million for creative industries between 2013 and 2016 money Wilson believes will give many outfits on the cusp on breaking out the momentum they need.
"We believe that by encouraging games developers to invest in their business and retain more of their profits in order to expand, that they will bring greater prosperity to the UK and enhance the country's creative output," he added.
"Companies such as Neon Play are crucial for the games industry. Smaller development teams are the bedrock of the UK games industry today and they produce exciting and compelling games, free of the shackles of publishers. That freedom is paying off."
