Dozens of mobile speakers to speak at San Fran

GREE, Zynga, Spry Fox and Capy all confirmed for GDC 2013
Organisers behind this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco have lifted the lid on scores of speakers set to take to the stage, with mobile gaming high on the agenda.

Of particular note is the return of the Smartphone & Tablet Games Summit, which will offer a two-day program that focuses specifically on mobile platforms.

Ndemic Creations' James Vaughan will deliver a post-mortem of Plague Inc., Capy's Nathan Vella will discuss the viability of paid apps in this free-to-play era and TouchArcade editor-in-chief Eli Hodapp provide his take on mobile game marketing.

Other confirmed speakers include Alexander Schwartz of Smuggle Truck developer Owlchemy Labs, Keith Shepherd of Imangi Studios and Limbic CEO Arash Keshmirian.

Not over yet

The Free-to-play Design & Business Summit will also offer plenty of interest to mobile games industry professionals.

Zynga's Mike Perry and Abhinav Agrawal will ask 'why won't FarmVille go away?' in their session, for instance, and a panel of Spry Fox executive will examine how to make an original free-to-play game.

King.com's mobile guru Tommy Palm will dissect the success of Candy Crush Saga, Kabam general manager Michael Li will explain the process of building Kingdoms of Camelot for mobile and DeNA's Yuji Shimizu and Daigo Sato will explain how Blood Brothers topped the US charts.

But wait, there's more

Of course, talks related to mobile gaming won't be confined to these two summits alone. Plenty of speakers on GDC's main session tracks will have pearls of wisdom for attending mobile professionals.

For example, BitMonster president Lee Perry (and former lead designer at Epic Games) will share the lesions learnt from bringing Lili to mobile, as well as his thoughts on mid-core mobile gaming.

Flurry's Dan Laughlin, meanwhile, will examine the relationship between mobile game genre and their choice of business strategy.

Finally, DeNA's senior director of strategy and partnerships Daniel Morris will examine how licensed games have changed – and how this impacted the development of Marvel: War of Heroes.

Due to run between 25-29 March, a full rundown of the confirmed speakers can be found on the GDC website, with tickets currently retailing for an early bird price of $1,475.
