We haven't heard much recently about Intel and Samsung's new Tizen OS.
But with the 2nd Tizen Developer Conference kicking off on 22 May in San Francisco that's able to change.
In the meantime, middleware outfit Havok has added Tizen support to its forthcoming open source Project Anarchy initiative.
As we discovered at GDC 2013, this is a complete end-to-end mobile 3D game production engine that will be free for iOS and Android development.
OS+1
Havok says it's optimising the full range of Project Anarchy technology for Tizen including Havok Vision Engine, Havok Physics, Havok Animation Studio and Havok AI.
"Tizen is an exciting and versatile new platform for mobile and connected devices," said Havok's MD David Coghlan
"We're thrilled to be on the ground floor with a highly robust game engine that will enable mobile developers to push the technology boundaries of Tizen to deliver highly compelling gameplay."
The company will be giving live demonstrations of Project Anarchy during the Tizen Developer Conference, and expects to make the Tizen-optimised build available starting in Q3 2013.
