[Updated] Playmob incentivises play and giving with launch of its charity coin system
[Updated: Blitz had informed us that Playmob Coins will be supported in the next update for Paper Titans.]

UK giving platform Playmob has announced the first deployment of its charity-focused virtual currency system.

Working with Blitz Games, players of Paper Titans can now earn Playmob coins by completing certain tasks such as completing levels, purchasing special items or just as a reward for time spent playing.

The coins can be spent supporting the 45 charities who have partnered with Playmob.

These range from WWF and War Child to Water Aid and Help USA.

Open arms

The Paper Titans' integration is the first of many. Playmob plans to launch the full version of its coin system later in 2013.

Developers currently signed up include PerBlue, Sneaking Games, EA, Aeria Games and HotGen.

"Playmob coins are a revolutionary way of giving, gamers can now support their favourite charities using a fun and easy-to-use platform," said Playmob CEO Jude Ower.

"Not only is it a great way to give but it really changes how you play. We're really excited to open up the alpha version to some of partners today and roll out the beta version in the near future."
