Google is expected to announce a new smartphone at an upcoming event in San Francisco on October 4th.
A short teaser video for the event was released on YouTube showing Google's search box morphing into a smartphone-shaped outline.
According to a report from Android Police, Google is expected to unveil two phones, one with a 5" screen and another with a 5.5" screen.
Both will have similar features and will be manufactured by HTC for Google.
Pixel perfect
It's rumoured that Google will be dropping the Nexus branding for its phones. Instead, the phones will be branded with Google's "G", and may be branded as Pixel phones.
Google may also use the event as an opportunity to announce release dates for some of its other products, including its VR platform Google Daydream.
Google Daydream was rumoured to launch sometime in September, not long after the latest Android OS update, but missed this release date.
Google's event will be livestreamed on YouTube at 10AM PDT on October 4th.
