Angry Birds on top as Rovio wins big at Develop Awards 2011
In amongst fellows winners such as Microsoft, Epic and Crytek, Rovio took home two honours at this year's Develop Industry Excellence Awards in Brighton.

The Finnish developer – made famous for the 250 million downloads of Angry Birds – was named as best handheld studio, and also bagged the awards' Grand Prix trophy.

Mobile might?

Though 19 developers or tools providers will a mobile focus picked up nominations back in May, Rovio was the only real mobile winner of the night.

Mojang Specifications of Minecraft fame, however, managed to bag three awards in all.
Minecraft has already been confirmed for both iPhone and iPad, while an Android version – designed for Xperia Play - is also in the works.

Epic's Unreal Engine 3 was also named as best engine at the event, with the platform having gained significant traction on iOS of late.
