Documents obtained by Engadget reveal a new 7-inch colour e-reader device called the Nook Tablet, to be launched by Barnes & Noble as a competitor to the Amazon Kindle Fire.
The Nook Tablet will retail for $249, $50 more than Amazon's newest e-reader but it will pack a 1.2GHz dual core processor with 16 GB of storage - two times more space than its predecessor the Nook Color and the Kindle Fire.

It'll be compatible with ePUB, PDF, XLS, DOC, PPT, TXT, DOCM, Flash, JPG, MP3, MP4 and AAC files and will apparently start shipping on November 16, just one day after the Kindle Fire. Pre-orders will be taken from November 7.
The leaked documents pertain to "twice the selection" of apps, "twice the power" and "twice the built-in memory."
On release of the Nook Tablet the original Nook Color will be reduced from $249 to $199.
