New faces

Known for its SOCOM games, Sony-owned studio Zipper Interactive will supply Unit 13 - a military shooter - which according to a Sony statement "focuses on portable play, with bite-sized gameplay and a non-linear mission structure that will allow players to jump in at any time, without having to keep up with a story or previous events."
MotorStorm RC from Sony-owned, UK outfit Evolution Studios will be an addition to the console racing franchise and is aiming to focus on social interaction.

Best ever launch

SVP of Sony's Worldwide Studios Europe, Michael Denny called the line up of titles "one of the best launch line ups of any games console, ever launched."

"We're counting down the days to the launch of PS Vita. This launch is something we are all so excited about at PlayStation as that's when we can see PS Vita where it was made to be – in the hands of gamers," he added in an announcement.

He also highlighted some of the augmented reality feature that the PS Vita will utilise, with six AR cards available at launch. These cards will enable players to download and play free games which are specifically designed to showcase the PS Vita's AR features.

Denny also explained the PS Vita's adoption of WAAR (Wide Area Augmented Reality) technology, which will enable the console to use up to six cards rather than a single one.

PS Vita will also support markerless AR, wherein cards become unnecessary.
