Pocket Gamer Mobile Mixer in Tampere, Finland voted a knockout success
The boxing match debate that runs as part of the Pocket Gamer Mobile Mixer - mission statement; Think, Drink and Connect - is becoming legendary.

Certainly the most recent bout - held as part of the Pocket Gamer event in Tampere, Finland, and organised with local agency Manse Games - demonstrated the fighting quality of the Finns.

Bruising encounter

The subject was Core versus Casual, with contenders Jouni Mannonen and Sampo Töyssy from developers Mountain Sheep (Helsinki) and 10tons (Tampere) defending the value of hardcore gaming against the casual assaults of Markus Pasula from Grand Cru (Helsinki), Ville from Rovio (Espoo and Tampere) and Oscar Clark from US/Chinese social platform Papaya.

After six rounds of battering debate, the crowd voted, and the Core side won by a whisker.

Prior to the debate, speakers from various companies including Papaya, Flurry, Symbio and Rovio provided insights into their business approach and how they thought the industry was changing to over 150 developers and students.

Of course, everything was washed down with plenty of Karhu and Olvii, and the talking continued long into the night...

Thanks for everyone who came and everyone who was involved in the organisation, especially Suvi Latva.
