PocketGamer.biz: What does your role at the company entail?

Dr. Mark Ollila: I am starting the CEO role at the beginning of October after having been an advisor to the company for the past 18 months. Now I am focused on scaling the company and the product Eva.

What do you think have been the most exciting developments in gaming since the last Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki?

Fortnite mobile. Seeing PC and console gaming actually really come to mobile. I am also enjoying seeing more location-based games coming out such as Walking Dead: Our World by Next Games.

What are your thoughts on the way the industry has grown in the last 12 months?

The industry continues to amaze me. Not only the past year. It is a decade of double-digit CAGR growth. Wow.

What do you think the next 12 months in mobile gaming are going to look like?

I am fascinated to see the effect the release of Magic Leap One will have on the types of content available. Also the increase in AR type games given the support from Apple and Google.

Which part of Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki are you most looking forward to and why?

Meeting old friends and meeting new friends. That is what makes the event the best particularly Helsinki. It is the heart of mobile games innovation.
