PocketGamer.biz: Could you tell us a bit about Panzerdog?

Alexey Sazonov: Panzerdog is the developer of Tacticool, a free-to-play mobile top-down shooter. Launched in 2019, it now has about 10M users and $10M revenue to date.

What does your role at the company entail?

Business development and staying aside while smart people make cool games.

Why did you want to work in the games industry?

Loving games, people who play games and make games!

What advice would you give to anyone looking to get into it?

The time to enter can't get any better! Reach out to game industry people now!

What are your thoughts on the industry in the last 12 months?

I've found only a couple of games that I really like to play this year. Is it me old and grumpy or there are not so many exciting new releases these days?

What major trends do you predict in the next 12 months?

We will see some new big names in the top-grossing charts. Logically it's about time for it to happen after so many years.

How has the games industry changed since you first started?

Mobile game developers get much better % of revenue and recognition since the good old J2ME time.

Which part of the Connects event are you most looking forward to and why?

Running butt-naked around a sauna with some Finns, but no one has invited me yet!
