Representing something of a vertical acquisition for the firm, mobile ad specialist 24MAS has announced the purchase of Irish service provider Selatra for an undisclosed fee.
Following on from the company's swoop for THQ Wireless in February, 24MAS says the addition of Selatra to its line-up will enable it to provide end-to-end solutions for its clients, adding hosting to its existing hand in app distribution and advertising.
One stop shop
"We are now able to offer our partners the full solution of advertising and premium content solutions, whilst allowing app developers to deal simply with one company and earn additional revenues through our networks - submit once and deliver to all, ads or apps," 24MAS CEO Tero Turunen said of the deal.
"We feel that we are in a unique position to exploit the booming mobile markets in the coming years with distributions rights, unmatched global reach, application hosting and managed service solutions covering everything from monitoring, reporting and billing.
"By adding on great titles to our app portfolio we will soon also have a collection of some of the best mobile apps on the market."
Status quo?
24MAS claims it has no intention to bring about any widescales changes at Selatra, which has been delivering managed games platform for operators since 2002.
Indeed, the company intends to continue to deliver new services from Selatra across the globe, including on-device-portals for smartphones and feature phones and managed carrier solutions.
"We believe that becoming a part of 24MAS takes our business to the next level," added Selatra CEO Fergal O'Callaghan.
"Selatra has a long history of distribution and hosting, but have not yet entered the thriving business of mobile advertising. We are happy to join 24MAS and have the opportunity to fully exploit our knowledge and abilities and delivering world class service both in apps and ads."
