Mobile cloud platform Appcelerator has kicked off its inaugural Hackathon contest, inviting developers attending its Codestrong event from 18-20 September to attempt to develop the most innovative app possible using its Titanium technology.

There’s a grand prize of $10,000 on offer with prizes also going out to the top five entries.

The judging panel will be assessing entry apps' depth of integration with Titanium APIs, utility, user experience and level of innovation.

Judges for the contest include Nolan Wright and Tony Guntharp of Appcelerator, David Carroll of Salesforce, Tim Guleri of Sierra Ventures, Ryan Floyd of Storm Ventures, Praveen Alavilli of PayPal and Jolie O’Dell of Venturebeat.

Developers interested in entering the contest will, however, need to be registered at the Appcelerator Codestrong event at the InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco by 19 September.

Tickets are $999.

Entries must be submitted by 5:00pm Pacific time on 20 September and prizes will be awarded from 6:00pm.
