According to a report from Reuters, HP is still seriously considering whether to sell or keep webOS, with Oracle among the potential buyers.
New CEO Meg Whitman said that the company will continue making tablets, but it could standardise on Windows 8 rather than using webOS. A decision will be made before the end of 2011.
Should a sale go through for webOS, it's thought the price would be in the hundreds of millions of dollars, far short of the $1.2 billion HP paid for Palm in April 2010.
Killing me slowly
Rumours of the sale of webOS have been surfacing for a while now, although one-time potential buyers such as Samsung and HTC are not thought to be interested.
Although, in October, Amazon were reportedly ahead of the pack with future Kindle devices looking to benefit.
TouchPad enjoyed a brief ember of hope after sales improved due to massive price drops, with research firm Canalys suggesting that HP reverse its decision to kill off the tablet.
