CES 2012: Samsung to launch modified Galaxy Tab 7.0 in Germany at end of January to skirt injunction
Following the launch of a modified Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany at the end of 2011 – a move taken to avoid Apple's successful injunction against the device – Samsung is preparing to roll out an equally altered Galaxy Tab 7.0.

The Galaxy Tab 7.0N, as named, is designed to sidestep said injunction against the original version of its larger cousin, which the American giant claimed mirrored its iPad design all too closely.

Different by design

That was a view upheld by a Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court, which ordered Samsung to withdraw the device from sale.

Samsung complied, vowing to redesign its tablet especially for the German market.

Though Apple complained about the re-released device - unveiled in November - no action was taken after Judge Johanna Brueckner-Hofmann suggested the tablet's altered design had moved sufficiently away from Apple's iPad.

As such, German site BestBoyz.de reports Samsung revealed at CES 2012 in Las Vegas that the Galaxy Tab 10.1N will be joined on the shelves by the Galaxy Tab 7.0N by the end of the month, retailing at an RRP of €600.
