Strong showing for mobile as BAFTA reveals Video Games Awards nominees
BAFTA has unveiled its nominees for the 2013 British Academy Games Awards, and its selections include mobile and handheld titles in a number of categories.

The dedicated Mobile and Handheld Games award sees Incoboto, LittleBigPlanet Vita, New Star Soccer, The Room, Super Monsters Ate My Condo and The Walking Dead all competing for a gong.

Telltale's undead opus, The Walking Dead, is also nominated in the Best Game, Story and Game Design categories, among others.

Fireproof Games' iOS puzzler The Room has also received plenty of nominations.

It's in the running for the Artistic Achievement award, the Best Debut Game award and the Best British Game award – where it will compete with Terry Cavanagh's Super Hexagon for the prize.

Simogo's Beat Sneak Bandit is up for an Audio Achievement award, Great Big War Game is nominated for the Best Strategy Game award and New Star Soccer picked up a second nomination in the Sports/Fitness category, too.

Finally, the BAFTA Ones To Watch category will see the three winners of the 2012 Dare to be Digital contest competing for a special award.

The three nominees are Loan Wolf Games' Pixel Story, King of a Big Deal's Windows Phone game Starcrossed, and Raptor Games' PC horror title Project Thanatos.
