Hearthstone and other Blizzard games suffer DDoS attacks

Blizzard was caught off guard by another DDoS attack on its servers yesterday that kept a number of players offline.

Blizzard admitted yesterday it was monitoring an attack against its network providers that affected latency and connections across its games on the Battle.net service.

Server outage

The outage reportedly affected games such as Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft on PC and mobile, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft.

Blizzard fixed the issue within an hour after notifying users of the problem. The attacks were the latest in a number of DDoS attacks against the company, and is an issue faced by numerous publishers of online games.
