DeNA partners with Vietnamese internet carrier VNG Corps to bolster Mobage library
Expanding its global base with yet another agreement, DeNA has signed a deal with Vietnamese internet carrier VNG Corporation to secure the firms's social titles for the Mobage platform.

As a result of the partnership, three games will hit the platform during 2012, with DeNA offering the firm support during their development process.

"Vietnam has a surprisingly strong Internet startup and game developer community," said DeNA Asia MD Tetsuya Mori.

"DeNA believes Vietnam will produce world-class developers and VNG is undoubtedly the strongest candidate. We are excited to develop a mutually beneficial, long-term relationship with VNG. DeNA is committed to supporting developers in Vietnam and beyond with Punch Entertainment and VNG."

Eye on Asia

The deal follows a series of moves by DeNA in the Asian market to cement Mobage's footprint in the region.

As well as the aforementioned acquisition of Punch Entertainment, DeNA has also set up a Singapore office, a deal with Goicha Suda's Grasshopper Manufacture and a partnership with Daum to take the platform to South Korea.

For its part, VNG founder, chairman and CEO Le Hong Minh said the company is happy to serve as the firm's latest partner.

"Our partnership with DeNA marks an important milestone for VNG as well as the whole developer community in Vietnam," he said.

"Achieving success in the Japanese market is a dream for every game developer in Vietnam. Through close collaborations with DeNA, VNG is committed to produce world-class social games."
