With arch rival DeNA rolling out its Mobage platform Globally and in China as well as firming up details for its Korean launch in 2012, the other Japanese social mobile gaming platform is also keen to point out it's not going to be left behind.
For the reason, GREE has dripped out some more details about its own platform expansion scheme, which is radically different.
First announced at the start of November, GREE has firmed up its approach, calling it a "fully borderless system", which will include a single sign-on system, a global payment solution, analytics tools, and a series of "robust out-of-network cross promotional opportunities" - whatever they are.
Easy access
Developers integrate via a single SDK that will support iOS and Android, enabling them to reach GREE's 150 million registered users, which are split between 30-odd million in Japan, the remainder being on the OpenFeint platform.
"This new GREE platform continues to show the commitment we have to building a truly global, free-to-play ecosystem for mobile developers. Our goal is to offer the best social gaming experience to players around the world," said GREE's CEO Yoshikazu Tanaka.
"GREE worldwide has the largest cross-platform network and this is a step closer to our goal of reaching one billion users."
The SDK is expected to be fully available in Q2 2012
