Berlin-based game marketing incubator Hitfox has unveiled two new businesses just weeks after the company itself was launched.
On the back of what it claims were two "seven digit seed investments", Hitfox has lifted the lid on what is billed as the world's first mobile game focused affiliate network, coupled with the launch of a 'quality game' discovery app Game Finder.
Big players
The former known as AppLift refers consumbers to mobile games from 50c upwards, bundling titles from the likes of Gameloft, Gameforge, Kabam, TinyCo, Fishlabs and 6waves from day one.
It is, Hitfox claims, the missing link in the current mobile gaming market.
"As first affiliate network for mobile games worldwide, AppLift meets an urgent need and sees very high demand by affiliates and game publishers alike," said Hitfox co-founder and MD Kaya Taner.
"We will reach the goals initially set for 2012 already in August and are now 'raising the bar'. By the end of 2012, we want to work together with 500 to 1,000 affiliates who refer new gamers on iOS, Android, and other platforms for at least 100 mobile game publishers."
Find and keep
The user side, Hitfox claims, will be handled by its other investment Game Finder, which is designed to function as a "quality filter" for the hundreds of thousands of apps on the market by only showing "the best mobile games."
Said titles have been chosen by a team of game testers that earmarked a total of 500 games for day one.
"The mobile games market is booming and we are happy to invest a seven-digit sum into teams that have already proven themselves," added Hitfox CEO Jan Beckers.
"We expect the growth to be accordingly fast and are looking forward to taking advantage of the numerous synergies with our existing portfolio and future start-ups."
