Casual, bite-sized gaming magnate King announced its first-ever licensing and merchandising agreement with a line of Candy Crush Saga Socks.
Yes, socks.
Premium sock designer Happy Socks will be handling the production of the branded footwear, with one style inspired by the chocolaty 'Color Bomb' while the other is based on the 'Striped Candy' power-up.
Warm toes
The decision for King to roll out branded merchandise comes as some argue it's experiencing its "Angry Birds moment".
Indeed, Rovio announced that half of its 2012 revenue came from the sale of physical goods, which is up from 30 percent of its revenue in 2011.
Plush toys alone made Rovio hundreds of millions of dollars - so it's natural for King to follow Rovio's example and expand into branded merchandise.
The Candy Crush Saga socks are available for pre-order on Happy Sock's website now for $12.00 / £8.00 per pair.
