Nokia beats out LG, Samsung, and Sony to be named as India's most trusted brand
With western firms increasingly looking to the growing middle classes in major Asian territories to grow their businesses, Finnish giant Nokia is one company that can already speak with authority on the region's riches.

Nokia still boasts a swelling market share throughout much of Asia, and now – for the second year in a row – the firm has been named as the most trusted brand in India.

No knocking Nokia

The study, conducted by Trust Research Advisory, is based on data sourced from a total of 2,718 'influencer' respondents from 15 cities, with 1,000 different brands making the final list.

Adding to Nokia's glory will be the fact it beat out some of its biggest rivals to take home the crown, with LG taking home third spot, Samsung fourth and Sony fifth.

"Last year was tumultuous for several brands, but those which focused on trust, have gained market-share, revenues and profits," said Trust Research Advisory CEO Mr. N. Chandramouli.

"On the other hand, the brands which have focused only on the latter, have invariably lost both. Focus on building trust and all else will follow automatically."

In 2011, Nokia's closest challenger was Sony in second spot, with LG and Samsung fourth and fifth respectively.
