They say the customer is always right, so while we also run down what we consider the top 10 events in mobile gaming of 2009, it's only right that we take a peek at the top 10 stories of the year as voted by your eyeballs.
As is the way of these lists, some stories are there because of their importance, while some gain their place due to the hard-to-navigate currents and eddies of internet links and referencing.
The list run from 10 to 1, with 1 being the most popular story written on PocketGamer.biz during 2009.
10. Who wants to play World of Warcraft on an iPhone?
The rumour didn't become fact but the tech demo from now defunct streaming company Vollee raised gamers' interest. And it might come true in 2010, thanks to similar company OnLive.
9. Distinctive boss: 99c games only make sense with sub-$40k development costs
With the prices of iPhone games under pressure all year, Nigel Little's assertion about the breakeven point of such titles found a ready audience.
8. Appvent Calendar site launched: one free game daily thro December
A surprisingly popular story was news of Blacksmith Games' Appvent Calendar, which saw one iPhone game go free daily until December 25th.
7. EA Mobile reveals big iPhone roadmap for 2009
EA Mobile was the largest publisher on mobile and iPhone during 2009. Early in the year it announced titles including FIFA, Command & Conquer and Madden NFL.
6. Real Racing was the best iPhone game of Q2 2009
The PocketGamer.biz Quality Index points out the best reviewed games in each quarter of the year. Firemint's Real Racing was one 2009's best games.
5. Fishlabs: 'iPhone 3GS will push beyond PSP'
Fishlabs is all about pushing the technical boundaries of hardware and CEO Michael Schade was quick to highlight the potential of the new iPhone 3GS.

All iPhone developers care about what's happening on the App Store. This was the first of our regular App Store Analysis articles that attempt to unpick significant trends.
3. Why the Granny Coder decided to make her first iPhone game aged 77
A nice human interest story, which got Slashdotted, was our interview with Marie Bila, who released her first iPhone game aged 77 in December.
2. Rumour: Apple planning $19.99 games section on App Store
Sadly, this one remains a rumour.
1. Games developers unite in praise for iPhone 3.0 software
Back in March, Apple announced the new iPhone operating system version would include micro-payments, access to the device's music library, and push notifications amongst other features.
Developers such as Michael Schade (Fishlabs), Kyu Lee (Gamevil USA), Trip Hawkins (Digital Chocolate), and Jill Braff (Glu Mobile) got enthusiastic.
