  King has had a busy old time of late.

  The firm has recently filed for an IPO for up to $500 million on the New York Stock Exchange, while its also been hard at work 'protecting its IP' by taking legal action against CandySwipe studio, Runsome Apps.

  Indeed, it's no surprise that King wants to protect its IP however, especially now it has been revealed that Candy Crush Saga is the second game to join the ludicrously exclusive billion dollar club.

  
  

• 3 TestFlight owner Burstly acquired by Apple

  

  In a move that came somewhat out of the blue, Apple acquired Burstly, the company behind app beta testing platform TestFlight, for an undisclosed fee.

  The news was confirmed by the Cupertino giant just hours after Burstly announced it was terminating the Android version of TestFlight to 'refocus on iOS'.

  Apple has decided to keep its cards close to its chest, refusing to reveal any details about the purchase, explaining through a company statement that it buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and generally doesn't discuss its plans.

  Following Peter Molyneux's recent talk at Casual Conect Europe, we had a chance to sit down with the man himself and chat to him about everything from his upcoming deity simulator, Godus, to his high score on Flappy Bird.

  "Whenever anything like this happens, you then end up with like twenty Flappy Duck and Fluffy Bird games," said Molyneux of Flappy Bird's succes.

  "You get all these clones, but it never works because it was just a moment in time.

  "It's like the equivalent of The Blair Witch Project. You know, that film was made with a $50,000 budget and with handheld cameras, but that doesn't mean every film is going to be shot on handheld cameras and with a cheap budget."

  Talking Tom Cat developer Outfit7 has claimed that its recent victory over Chinese app firm NanJing oooo3d sends out a 'forceful message' to other developers who are intent on pushing out counterfeit products.

  Over a year after the Outfit7 filed the lawsuit, NanJing oooo3d was finally found guilty of "copying the Talking Tom virtual character and the look and feel of the globally successful Talking Tom mobile apps".
