Awe Interactive is an independent and innovative game development studio focused on creating unique, immersive, and engaging narrative-driven FPS RPGs. Our tight knit and experienced team of developers, designers, and artists share a passion for storytelling, game mechanics, and creating unforgettable gaming experiences. Our mission is to create moments of Awe for our players.

We are currently seeking a Game Producer to join our team and contribute to the development of our latest project. We are looking for someone who is open and willing to get into the nuts and bolts of an ongoing project and decide priority and workload. Ultimately being responsible for delivering our game to a high standard, on time and on budget.

This job is primarily one of organisation, of reviewing tasks, planning and getting decisions made. You will liaise with leads and key staff to plan and organise work. You will make sure that our project is focusing on the right things at the right times and give us visibility on scope to make production decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively drive forward the production of our game.
  • Foster effective communication between departments.
  • Create and edit the team's production plan to realistically achieve milestones.
  • Manage the team’s tasks, assign tasks where appropriate and learn the team’s individual strengths.
  • Work from the big to the small. Break down large tasks into smaller ones with other leads. Including creating specifications, and statements of work for outsource.
  • Plan additional internal objectives to keep the project on track.
  • Present solutions to leads for production problems.
  • Manage Jira.
  • Run the team's Monday stand-up and be attentive to other weekly stand-ups.
  • Assure that the team's work is resulting in “player facing” outcomes and not vanity work.
  • Provide feedback, unblock decisions and pre-empt blockers.
  • Collaborate with leads to learn the important factors of the game.
  • Work with external development partners to secure deliverables in time for the studio to make use of them effectively.

Requirements

  • 2 years industry experience in a production, production assistant or similar role.
  • Experience with project management software (we use Jira and Excel).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to assess risk and prioritise work.
  • Able to plan mitigation strategies.
  • Able to give and receive feedback honestly. Also able to empower others to give and receive feedback.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to both challenge and encourage.
  • A familiarity with source control such as SVN or Perforce.
