Nokia confirms first Windows Phone device will run Mango update
Microsoft's latest Windows Phone press blitz might have unveiled fresh support from Fujitsu, Acer, Toshiba and ZTE, but it's Nokia's plans for the OS that offer the greatest interest.

In amongst cherry picking the highlights of the 500 new features set to hit with the platform's next major update, Microsoft confirmed that Nokia's first handset will come equipped with this latest version - dubbed 'Mango' - from day one.

In fact, Nokia already has Mango running on devices in its labs.

"Today, Microsoft has announced the key new ingredients of the latest 'Mango' release of the Windows Phone operating system," Nokia added on its blog.

"This is the software that will be used on the first Nokia with Windows Phone device, and so should be of keen interest to Nokia-watchers everywhere."

Mango will roll out to existing handsets this autumn, Microsoft confirmed, with existing partners expected to launch new handsets to coincide with its debut.

Nokia's first phones aren't expected to his the shelves in any volume until early 2012, however.
