Android absent as Google revenues top $9.7 billion in Q3 2011
Just how much money does Google make from Android?

Though the OS is going from strength to strength in most major markets when it comes to pure sales, the search giant's reluctance to mention Android even once in its Q3 2011 earnings report suggests it's not exactly flooding its vaults with cash.

As a whole, Google saw revenues hit $9.7 billion in Q3 2011 – up 33 percent on the $7.3 billion it pulled in during the same quarter last year – but no figures whatsoever have been given for the firm's Android business.

Google on the gain

Instead, the firm's report focuses on other aspects of its enterprise – its ad business meriting mentions aplenty, as well as its properties across the web.

Google owned websites, for instance, generated 69 percent of all revenue in the quarter, while network revenues – including AdSense programs – made up 27 percent.

Geographically, 55 percent of Google's revenue was generated in the US, with 11 percent stemming from the UK.

According to the standard GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) rules, operating income hit $3.1 billion, up from $2.6 billion in Q3 2010. Non-GAAP operating income came in at $3.6 billion – a jump from $2.9 billion during the same quarter last year.

Net income came in at $2.7 billion, up from $2.2 billion in Q3 2010.
