Halfbrick's Luke Muscat to present Jetpack Joyride focused design session at GDC 2012
Despite launching its very first smartphone focused version in Europe in 2011, GDC's main San Francisco splash still plays host to some of the most relevant mobile gaming sessions in its own right.

GDC 2012 will be no exception. Luke Muscat of Halfbrick has already been confirmed as a speaker, giving a presentation entitled Depth in Simplicity: The Making of Jetpack Joyride - a design orientated focus on the development process employed in the firm's endless runner.

On track

Other speakers confirmed for the five-day event include Ben Hanke of Slant Six Games, Christian Lichtner of Blizzard Entertainment, Kasper Fauerby Kasper of IO Interactive, Laura Fryer of WB Games Seattle and Dan Pinchbeck of thechineseroom.

Said talks will be available for those holding 'all access' or main conference passes, with pricing details available on the GDC website.

GDC Tracks will also detail a plethora of development disciplines, including audio, game design, production, programming, and visual arts.

Other Tracks at GDC will cover business, marketing and management as well as monetisation - the latter of which will focus on social network titles, free-to-play web games, kid-friendly online titles and large-scale MMOs.

GDC 2012 will run from Marc 5-9 in San Francisco.
