Sees strong F2P revenue from The Secret Society

G5 Entertainment sees H1 2013 sales up 37% to $7.3 million
Swedish/Russian publisher G5 Entertainment (STO:G5EN) has announced its half year financials for the six months ending 30 June 2013.

Consolidated revenues were up 37 percent year-on-year to $7.3 million (SEK 49 million).

Operating profit was $1.9 million (SEK 13 million), up 42 percent.

The company also revealed its cumulative iOS and Android download total reached 100 million in early 2013.

Giving it away

In terms of titles, G5 said free-to-play titles The Secret Society and Virtual City Playground have performed well.

The Secret Society was a top 50 top grossing game in the US on iPad and is now the company's highest grossing game, both on iOS and on Android.

G5 is now concentrating on F2P games rather than the try-before-you-buy apps it previously focused on.

It also released two games for Windows 8; both Supermarket Mania 2and Stand O'Food 3 entered the US top 10 downloads charts.

G5 plans to list the company on the larger NASDAQ OMX Stockholm exchange in the second half of 2013 to increase share liquidity and attract more institutional investors.
