Atari has partnered with Mattel and mobile technologies firm StartApp to bring Barbie-branded content to the developer's game RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch.
The partnership will see Barbie-related restaurants, rides, and decorations available to place in player's theme parks. These will be made available for free in card packs, or can be purchased directly from the in-game store.
RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch is Atari's current flagship mobile title. It has now surpassed 10 million downloads since launching in February 2017.
Friends forever
“We are excited to partner with Mattel and StartApp to bring fresh in-game branded content to RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch,” said Atari CEO Fred Chesnais.
"By adding new themed content based on Barbie, we're bringing together two highly recognized and beloved brands — one of Mattel’s most iconic properties and the most well-known roller coaster builder franchise — for millions of players to enjoy."
Atari most recently signed a two-game publishing deal with crowdfunding platform Fig. It is unclear which platforms it will be releasing these games on, but given the success of RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch, mobile seems like a definite possibility.
