Play NYC enters its second year with a four-floor showcase of New York City’s hottest games

Play NYC’s second year brings another two-day showcase of both local and international game development talent to New York.

The city’s historic Hammerstein ballroom at the Manhattan Centre will play host to four floors of playable games, digital art installations, and streaming sets. Play NYC is inviting consumers, press, developers and influencers to experience New York’s gaming community.

Indies and triple-A

Exhibitors include big names like Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Rage 2), alongside home-grown indie talent. Event organiser Playcrafting hopes that the event will help put New York City on the games industry map, and bring attention to its development community.

Last year’s event saw more than 112 games exhibited for players to get their hands on and 20 talks and panels from industry professionals. More than 5,000 attendees headed to the event.

“We are so excited and grateful to welcome these developers, publishers and pros to this year’s Play NYC convention,” said Playcrafting Founder & CEO Dan Butchko

“The initial list represents developers from studios large and small from around the world.

“Last year, our promise was to give NYC the first dedicated all-games convention it deserved. This year, we’re taking it to the next level.”

Play NYC will run August 11th to 12th from 10am to 8pm each day at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

Tickets are now available via Ticketmaster, giving access to the entire convention in five-hour time blocks, 10am to 3pm or 3pm to 8pm each day.

You can snag yourself a tidy 20 per cent discount on ticket prices by entering “NYCFAM” in the “Enter Offer Code” field at checkout.
