HTC announces three new iPhone rivals
Until the iPhone came along, HTC was pretty much unrivalled when it came to cutting-edge phone designs. So it's no huge surprise that it's been working hard to provide an answer to the iPhone. Three, in fact.

The new HTC Touch series comprises three different models aimed at different areas of the market. The Touch 3G is aimed at the business market with its high speed connectivity, while the Touch HD promises a better experience for the media savvy user with a high resolution 3.8" screen (pictured). The Touch Viva caters for the budget range of the spectrum, though all three will carry Windows Mobile 6.1 operating systems and full touchscreen access.

"The HTC Touch 3G and Touch Viva embody our commitment to build a family of touch phones that are powerful and stylish but also offer something to everyone, " said HTC's president, Peter Chou.

"The internet is so much more than just email and our customers expect to be able to access the internet and high-quality multimedia content no matter where they are in the world."

Yes. Spanner's his real name. And, yes, he's heard that joke before.
