Rovio announces plan to set up Stockholm, Sweden office

Looking for a GM to manage recruitment of 20-30 staff

Rovio announces plan to set up Stockholm, Sweden office
It has 100 vacancies in its main office in Espoo, Finland, a satellite studio in Tampere, Finland, and has just bought Finnish outfit Future Game Studio, but that's not enough for Rovio.

It's just put out an alert for 20 to 30 staff for a new studio in Stockholm, Sweden.

First up, however, it's looking for a general manager, who will recruit for and run the office, which is planned to open later in 2012.

"2012 is going to be a big year in gaming for us, and we're constantly on the lookout for great new talent," said Petri Järvilehto, Rovio's EVP of Games.

"We're excited to expand to Stockholm and work in one of Europe's gaming and innovation hotspots."

Other companies already well established in Stockholm include EA's DICE studio, ngmoco's newish development outfit, King.com's mobile division (previously Fabrication), as well as indies such as Polarbit and Minecraft developer Mojang.
