Every week, Pocket Gamer sister site Quality Index (Qi) highlights the newest games to make a critical splash in the cool, seductive waters of the iOS pool.
Grabbing scores and opinions from all corners of the web, including from 148Apps, AppGamer, and TouchMyApps, Qi answers all your iPhone-related questions before you've even asked them.
Today, we're going to focus on two new contenders vying to be crowned king of your iPhone. Both are worthy, but do they have what it takes to win your head, your heart, and your wallet?
What's blue, spiky, and can't be stopped?
Spinning straight into the #1 spot on this week's chart with a Qi rating of 9.5 is the long-awaited Sonic CD.
Proving once and for all that you can't keep a blue hedgehog down, this pitch-perfect port has gone down a storm with Apple addicts and Sega stalwarts alike.
Catapulted through time, Sonic must stop Dr. Eggman from getting his hands on the Time Stones and prevent the mecha-obsessed madman from taking over the world (again).
Life-long Blue Blur fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as 148Apps points out that "the reworked engine makes the game feel just like it did back in the halcyon days of 1993".
Tell me another
Meanwhile, taking a drunken swing at the Qi Top 10 is The Bard's Tale, a light-hearted lampooning of the traditionally straight-faced fantasy RPG genre.
This mobile port of the 2004 console title puts giggles before gravity, delivering an outrageous take on the chivalrous sword-wielding hero type with which role-playing game fanatics are familiar.
Boasting 50 enemy types, over 150 items, 14 hours of top-class voice acting, and even a zombie dance-off, The Bard's Tale will have you chopping and chuckling your way through over 20 hours of fantasy fun.
As Pocket Gamer points out: "The entire game is drenched in an epic atmosphere, and Cary Elwes's stellar vocal contribution is legitimate justification for purchase on its own."
You can get the up-to-date information about which games are reviewing best over at the Quality Index.
