Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has been more than willing to admit where the company has underperformed with Windows Phone of late.
Speaking at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, however, he went on the offensive.
Indeed, Ballmer seemed buoyed by Nokia's forthcoming Windows Phone reveal at Nokia World 2011 due to kick off in London on October 26 suggesting the Finnish firm will unveil not one, but multiple new handsets running Microsoft's OS.
Talking the blah-blah-blah
Ballmer claimed he's excited by the "bunch of new devices running Windows Phone" set for their debut at Nokia World, meaning the Nokia 800 won't be the only new handset from the OEM making the headlines before the end of the month.
Also on Ballmer's radar were Windows Phone's biggest two competitors iOS and Android.
In the case of iPhone, the Microsoft CEO said speedy Bing search on Windows Phone (delivered via a dedicated hardware button) makes iPhone look like a "sea of icons and blah-blah-blah".
Android, meanwhile, is far too complicated.
"You dont need to be a computer scientist to use a Windows Phone," he concluded. "It is really hard for me to get excited about Android."
