Wooga highlights iOS-Facebook synergies with 64% of Diamond Dash's iOS players going cross platform
With the likes of Zynga, King.com and 6waves pushing hard onto mobile, popular Facebook publisher Wooga is also keen to highlight its transition.

Launching Diamond Dash onto iOS in December 2011, the free game has since gone onto gain over 11 million downloads.

It's a gem

Wooga puts this success done to its implementation of Facebook Connect, enabling features such as synchronised scores between mobile and Flash versions, a real-time leaderboard, and the ability to gift friends playing on a desktop computer from a mobile device.

Significantly it also reveals that the number of iOS players who use Facebook Connect continues to rises. It was 28 percent in December, but now it's 64 percent.

In contrast, at GDC 2012, PopCap's Giordano Bruno Contestabile said that only 20 percent of Bejeweled Blitz players on iOS link their game to Facebook.

Linked and busy

Unsurprisingly, Wooga says that players who log into Facebook via the iOS game are more active; being eight times more likely to spend money, and spending 50 percent more on average than those who don't.

In terms of device breakdown, 13 percent of Diamond Dash downloads since its 16 March launch have been for the new iPad, with 25 percent for iPhone 4 and 22 percent for iPhone 4S.

More generally, the lifetime split between iPhone and iPad downloads is 51 percent for iPhone and 40 percent for iPad. The missing 9 percent is iPod touch.
